Your Guide to Outdoor Adventures in Roseville
From peaceful hiking trails to high-energy community events, this guide highlights the outdoor adventures waiting just beyond Amoruso Ranch.
Hit the Slopes or Head for Snow
Not ready to say goodbye to winter? Plan a day trip to Donner Summit, where snow play, cross-country skiing and alpine views make for an easy seasonal escape. While you’re there, visit Sugar Bowl Resort, the closest major ski resort to Sacramento and the Bay Area. Fresh mountain air included.
Explore Local Trails
Roseville is laced with scenic paths that make it easy to turn a simple walk into a nature break. Head to Antelope Creek Trail for up to three miles of fully paved trails, perfect for casual evening walks just minutes from home. For a longer outing, hike or bike along Miner’s Ravine Trail, an eight-mile stretch of open space that begins in Old Town Roseville, winds through local parks and ends at Sierra College Boulevard. Dry Creek Trail is another family-friendly favorite, with paved paths for walkers and dirt trails for horseback riders.
Chase Waterfalls in Auburn
Spend the day exploring Hidden Falls Regional Park, tucked into the oak woodlands of the Sierra Nevada foothills. Discover 30-foot waterfalls, sweeping views of the Sacramento Valley and more than 30 miles of multi-use trails for hiking, biking and horseback riding. It’s a choose-your-own-adventure kind of day.
Plan an Outdoor Play Day
For lakeside fun, head to Folsom Lake State Recreation Area. Spend the day hiking, fishing, picnicking or out on the water kayaking, boating or waterskiing. Group picnic sites are available by reservation, making it an easy spot for gatherings with friends and neighbors. Closer to home, Maidu Regional Park offers playgrounds, picnic areas, sports fields, a skate park and much more.
